University Collaborations at NRDC Can Be a Sticky Business

10/2017 - Bonded Abrasives researchers Andrew Schoch, Sena Carleen, and Dean Matsumoto recently co-authored a new article in the International Journal of Adhesion and Adhesives.  Detailing some research conducted with the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), the authors use thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and NMR to examine cross-linking reactions of phenol formaldehyde resin and hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA).  The ground-breaking research has resulted in a series of techniques to monitor the cross-linking process directly, paving the way for future research into high performance adhesives.
