NRDC researching materials to protect US soldiers

R&D Group Leader, Melanie Kuhn, has co-authored a recent article in the American Ceramic Society Bulletin describing how lightweight armor developed by Saint-Gobain Engineered Ceramics can protect the military and law enforcement.  The silicon carbide armor can be used as body armor or to protect vehicles from ballistic threat.  Research at the NRDC will continue to explore new materials and processing methods directed at developing next-generation lightweight ceramic armor.  Read the article at: http://www.refractories.saint-gobain.com/silicone-carbide-modern-warfighter-article
