NRDC researchers collaborating with Université Laval

02/08/2018   NRDC researchers Camila Garces and Nicolas Drolet presented collaborative work with Professor Gaetan Laroche of Université Laval at the 4th International Workshop on Plasma Surface Interactions in Orleans, France, November, 2017.   The objective of this 3-year project was to develop a predictive model of the impact of corona surface treatment process variables on the properties of several materials.   A lab scale reactor was designed, and the work developed a methodology for the correlation of changes in process parameters with the properties of the surfaces that are modified.     Using the model, surface properties can be predicted as a function of input process conditions.  The method also facilitates process troubleshooting.  Professor Laroche, who led the study, is Director of the Laboratory of Surface Engineering at Laval.
