In Our Own Words

"I started working at Saint-Gobain as a Research Engineer in the PT-CRL Wet Coatings group after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.  The upbeat and friendly atmosphere made the transition to work life a smooth and enjoyable one.  It was refreshing to see not only the cultural diversity but the balance of age, gender, and academic backgrounds present at the site.

At Saint-Gobain, I work alongside experts in different fields every day and feel a strong sense of collaboration and community with the group.  The open office environment as well as the countless seminars and training opportunities make it a perfect setting for people at any stage of their careers to learn and develop new skills.

In my current group, I work on coating formulation and processing for several different business units, allowing me to gain insight into many of Saint-Gobain’s markets.  From creating and testing lab scale coating samples to conducting pilot trials, my days are filled with new challenges and diverse tasks.  Each new project provides the opportunity to exercise creative freedom and explore new processes and products.

It is not just the successful projects and innovations that make Saint-Gobain Research North America special, but also the community engagement and interpersonal relationships among colleagues.  I always look forward to the social events such as the monthly community bazaar, diversity day, the community garden, and our many charity and outreach events.  New friendships are inevitable while working here and it’s the employees of Saint-Gobain that keep me excited to come to work every day."
